Ugh

I've thus far watched over a dozen film fest flicks and there hasn't been a gem in the bunch.

Everything's Gone Green was tolerable, as was Radiant City. But Shortbus? Unabashedly crap.

Maybe it's just me...

...but when I watch a movie with a cover like this:

I expect just a little nudity.

Not that it would have helped, though. Even the presence of Al Borland himself, Richard Karn, couldn't save this hopelessly inept Porkys wannabe.

Zach Attack!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Former "NYPD Blue" co-star
Mark-Paul Gosselaar is joining the cast of ABC's new
Geena Davis drama "Commander in Chief," where he'll play a slick media strategist.

Gosselaar will be reunited with executive producer Steven Bochco, who took the reins of the White House drama this month from creator Rod Lurie. Gosselaar worked on the Bochco-produced "NYPD Blue" from 2001 until the series finale this year. Before "NYPD Blue," Gosselaar was best known for his work on the kids TV staple "Saved By the Bell."

Reuters/Hollywood Reporter

Probably won't be as sweet as watching the erstwhile Zach Morris beat up perps NYPD Blue style, but it's good news nonetheless.

Fun fact: Zach's band was called Zach Attack.

Saw II doesn't suck! Yay!

And Tobin Bell gets lots of screentime. What more can a guy ask for?

Crap, crap, crap, and more crap

Aside from a reviewing of Saw - which remains one of the best horror flicks in recent years - I've been watching nothing but crap lately:

The Legend of Zorro: A weak, unnecessary sequel that emphasizes incredibly juvenile bits of humor (watch Zorro's horse burp after drinking liquor! Oh, the hilarity!) Plus Catherine Zeta-Jones remains one of the absolute worst actresses of her generation.

Doom: Aside from that badass first-person sequence towards the end, this was strictly an Aliens ripoff (a lousy Aliens ripoff, at that).

Herbie: Fully Loaded: Oh, the humanity.

I did like Stay, though - but it seems I'm alone on that one. Likewise, A History of Violence is easily Cronenberg's best flick in almost twenty (!) years.

And I'm seeing Saw II tomorrow morning, which I'm hoping (praying, really) doesn't suck.

It has begun!

Alrighty, first entry. Hmm. What to write? Something good, I hope.

A little about me: I dig movies.

My favorite movie: Back to the Future (for reals, yo).
